Hephaestus
Hephaestus is the god of technology, blacksmiths, Craftsmen and volcanoes. His symbols are the hammer, anvil and tongs. His children are Thalia, Eucleia, Euphema.
Hephaestus was the son of Hera only. She was mad that Zeus had fathered Athena without her. Hephaestus was born so ugly that Hera did not like him as much she did her other children and she threw him from Mount Olympus. It took him 1 day to fall from Mount Olympus.However, Hephaestus was god of craftsmen and blacksmiths who made weapons and tools for the other gods. He took his revenge on Hera by making her a throne which stopped the user from moving from the throne. He was given wine by Dionysus and made drunk. Then he was offered Aphrodite in exchange for freeing Hera.
Hephaestus made all the equipment for the gods. He made all the thrones for the gods as well as Aphrodite’s magic girdle, Hermes winged sandals and hat, the Aegis breastplate, Agamemnon’s staff of office, Achilles armour, Heracles’ bronze clappers, Helios’ chariot, the shoulder of Pelops and Eris’ bow and arrows. He even made pieces of metal do some of his work.
